Financial Controller

There has never been a more exciting time to join the team.
To support the expanding business into West Cornwall and the opening of a new depot, we are looking for a Financial Controller to join the team.

In this exciting and stimulating position you will play a pivotal role in achieving the ambitious growth targets for this leading West Country machinery business.

We are looking for somebody who can positively impact the business, bringing ideas and innovations to the finance department and engaging at board level to help drive the strategy of the business.

The recent growth and success of the business require the addition to the finance team of a new Financial Controller role to drive change and to help expand, revise and streamline the existing financial management processes.

This role is best suited to an individual looking to innovate and bring their own ideas, going beyond simply managing the monthly financial operations, and will be a springboard for someone looking to progress their career in industry. The role requires an individual capable of managing the finance function across multiple locations.

In this varied position, you will assume responsibility for delivering the monthly management information pack, cash flow forecasts, financial performance analysis, leading the audit process, overseeing all VAT, tax and regulatory/compliance issues, liquidity management, budgeting, payroll, employee benefits and pension management.

You will actively seek out opportunities for improvement and play a critical role in the development and enhancement of the internal reporting systems.

So why join Smallridge Bros?

You will be working for a growing and ambitious firm based in Devon and Cornwall. Established forty years ago, the company is a leader in its market and requires a team passionate about keeping it that way. The dealer environment is constantly evolving, so you will enjoy frequent challenges and will be rewarded with a competitive salary and the opportunity to sit in the driving seat for your career and for the company’s finance function.

If you are a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ideally IBCOS, have a keen eye for detail and have an ambitious streak, we would love to hear from you.
