Operating logic now aligns with the 6R, 7R and 8R series, supporting seamless operator transfer between machines and reducing training requirements.

CommandX™ Plus and Compact CommandARM™

The optional CommandX™ Plus joystick, available with e19™ and AutoPowr™ transmissions, is integrated into the Compact CommandARM™ and offers:

  • Six freely assignable buttons
  • Two programmable set speeds
  • Full control of tractor and ISOBUS functions

Operators can also choose between traditional E-SCV controls or an electronic joystick, depending on preference and application.

G5 CommandCenter™ and display

The optional 10.1-inch G5 CommandCenter™ display serves as the central interface for tractor and Precision Ag functions, supported by a corner post display showing key parameters such as speed and engine rpm.

The G5 platform supports advanced applications including:

  • AutoTrac™ guidance
  • AutoPath™
  • Section Control and Variable Rate Control

The Settings Manager enables storage of tractor and implement profiles, while the Layout Manager allows customisation of screen layouts.

Automation functions and work planning

The MY27 6M models support iTEC™ headland management, automating repetitive sequences such as PTO engagement, hitch movements, hydraulic functions, travel speed and gear selection.

With Work Planner, work plans created in the John Deere Operations Center™ are transferred wirelessly to the tractor. Guidance lines, application maps and implement settings load automatically when entering the field, allowing operators to cover up to 9% more area per hour.

Precision Agriculture and connectivity

The 6M Series can be equipped with:

  • StarFire™ 7500 receivers
  • G5 displays
  • JDLink™ connectivity

SF-RTK provides positioning accuracy down to 2.5cm.

Data is synchronised wirelessly with the John Deere Operations Center™ via DataSync. InField Data Sharing connects multiple machines working in the same field, enabling real-time coordination and improved operational efficiency.

Service and uptime

The 6M range combines long service intervals with a simplified maintenance concept. The e19™ transmission features 100% mechanical gear trains, reducing heat load and wear over extended operating cycles.

A new high-bandwidth communication bus provides access to more than 2,000 machine data points, enabling improved remote diagnostics and Expert Alerts. These systems help identify potential issues early, shorten repair times and reduce unplanned downtime.

John Deere Introduces New 665R and 685R Front Loaders for Large 6R Tractors

New design delivers improved visibility, higher productivity and easier serviceability for professional loader work

Walldorf, Germany, June 8, 2026 – John Deere has expanded its front loader offering with the introduction of the new 665R and 685R loaders, developed specifically to complement the latest Large and Xtra-Large frame 6R tractors. The new loaders focus on improving operator confidence, material handling performance and day-to-day serviceability.

Enhanced visibility

Visibility has been a key development area for the new 665R and 685R loaders, supporting safer and more precise operation in demanding daily work. A multi-position digital camera can be specified as an option, mounting either on the loader boom or torque tube and connecting directly into the loader harness. The camera can be repositioned quickly without tools, giving operators a clear view of the working area when handling bulk materials or bales.

Mounting and dismounting the loader has also been simplified. New latch-point cut-outs allow operators to visually confirm correct attachment from the cab, reducing uncertainty and saving time during coupling. In addition, a new two-position bucket level indicator, factory-set, helps operators maintain correct attachment angles when switching between buckets, bale spikes or pallet forks.

Further visibility gains come from low-profile hydraulic hose routing and a redesigned underslung mechanical self-levelling system, both of which reduce visual obstruction in the operator’s forward field of view.

Higher productivity

Performance improvements on the 665R and 685R loaders are designed to help operators move more material with every cycle. A revised loader geometry provides an additional 8 degrees of rollback angle, significantly reducing spillage during transport and improving load retention.

This gain is achieved through a combination of a new angle plate position on the loader and updated bucket latching point geometry, with redesigned side plates that allow the bucket to hold more material. The result is higher productivity, particularly in repetitive loading tasks such as silage handling, manure loading or bulk material movement.

The 665R and 685R can also be equipped with John Deere’s Technology Package, which includes:

  • Dynamic Weighing System
  • Level to Horizon
  • Return to Position

These features further enhance productivity, precision and ease of operation.

Easier serviceability and future-ready design

Serviceability has been improved to reduce maintenance time and support long-term ownership. Routine maintenance is simplified thanks to a central greasing system, making all lubrication points easier to access, particularly on larger loader installations. This helps reduce daily service time and supports consistent machine care in intensive operations.

Separate electrical and hydraulic connections improve connection stability while also supporting future upgradeability. All loaders are equipped as standard with a new electrical architecture, controllers and main harness, allowing additional features—such as suspension, lights, camera systems or the Technology Package – to be added later as customer needs evolve.

Availability

The new 665R and 685R loaders are available for MY27 Large and Xtra-Large frame 6R tractors. Price lists will be released in July 2026, with shipments scheduled to begin in April 2027.
